On this boating trip, you’ll depart from the Nicoya Peninsula to see Tortuga Island. Peer over the hulle of the boat for the chance to see marine wildlife swimming past. You’ll also have the chance to try snorkeling and explore the island on your own.

It takes around 30 minutes to reach Tortuga Island—look out along the way for dolphins and pilot whales. Tortuga Island has a paradisiacal reputation and makes you feel like you’ve truly escaped from the everyday. Once you reach the white sand beach, your guides will set up a thoughtfully prepared BBQ lunch. This meal includes bottled water and a beer.

After lunch, you have the option to go snorkeling near the beach. Snorkeling gives you the chance to meet manta rays, morays, and porcupine fish—among other tropical fish that prefer warmer, shallower water. There are other optional activities, like banana boat rides, jet ski rides, and games on the beach. You can also hike through the tropical vegetation that grows inland, or simply live your best life on one of the loungers on the beach.
