Hector was a wonderful, and friendly guide. He got us through the chopping and feeding really well and it took some doing.
Carlos was an awesome tour guide. I loved the message of appreciating nature and animals without needing to consume it for our own pleasures.
This was the highlight of our visit to Costa Rica. My husband also loved it and he was just doing it because I wanted to. The staff in the sanctuary are wonderful and passionate about what they do, and our guide (Carlos) injected humour into every situation. The volunterring is not that hard. All you have to do is cut up a few bowls of fruit and then feed it to the inhabitants of the sanctuary.
The Sacred Seed Sanctuary protects a massive diversity of plants, many of which are threatened by climate change. This is part of an effort to create 10,000 seed banks worldwide, in order to combat the constant lost of species caused by deforestation. At this location, you can see a collection of over 300 tropical plants.
