Delight your senses and explore Costa Rica’s tropical flavors, organic fresh products, and typical recipes. Join us to this nature and gastronomic experience of discovering and tasting classic Costa Rican meals.

We are visiting a local organic farm on this expedition, just 15 minutes outside of La Fortuna downtown we will reach this beautiful peace of paradise run by a local family, where we will find and taste some of the seasonal products, among 15 different kind of fruits, 10 different vegetables, 5 different tubers, seeds and species, in about 4 acres of land in the skirts of the Arenal Volcano and at the edge of a river that gives life to an abundant biodiversity of flora and fauna. As we explore the land and walk through the crops, we will be able to pick some of the products we will need for our cooking experience, enjoy the contact and the smell of your ingredients as you harvest them. We will now walk into a beautiful garden that will take us to the ¨rancho¨, a well designed open air and rustic space equipped with a wood stove and a charming scenario for our cooking. Our host will be ready to guide us preparing your preferred meal from this menu:

-Olla de Carne (Meat Soup), a classic one! Prepared with vegetables and tubers specially yuca (cassava), sweet potato, yum, squash, carrots, and green plantains.

-Fish Ceviche, a classic snack, accompanied with tuber chips we will prepare, a good complement to a cold beer.

-Heart of palm ceviche, accompanied with tuber chips we will prepare, nice to taste with some cocktails.

-Enyucados (cassava rolls), after pulling out the cassava root from the earth, we will prepare a mashed cassava and roll it with cheese or meat depending on your preference.

As we cook we will also learn to prepare some tropical sodas and cocktails.
