IncludedTake this tour to see a cave and a canyon in the midst of the gorgeous Dominical landscape. Spend the night camping surrounded by nature, with spectacular ocean views, and fill your days with thrilling activities like rappelling, hiking, and swimming in a nearby waterfall.
Your day of exploring begins with an hour-long hike where your guide will introduce you to local plants and insects, some of which are edible (termites, anyone?) Eventually you’ll arrive at a garden that has tropical fruits, vegetables, and herbs — your guide will give you a short introduction to their medicinal uses. You’ll also get to taste some of the fruit. This tour will also introduce you to some of Costa Rica’s colorful animals— look for the bright yellow scales of the pit viper, which you’re most likely to spot clinging to tree trunks. Dominical’s forest is also a habitat for toucans, monkeys, and sloths.
Next, your guide will show you the way to Diamante Cave. This cave has a wide opening that lets in lots of sunlight that illuminates its stone walls. As you explore the cave, you’ll have a stunning view of the canyon below.
No experience is required for rappelling, and your guide will make you feel comfortable with the equipment before you take the leap. The cave is a short hike from Diamante Falls. This impressive plummet pours over a cliff covered with thick greenery. From the top of the falls you’ll be able to see the Pacific Ocean in the distance, and at the lower falls, you’ll get to visit a network of pools for swimming.
You’ll conclude the tour by spending the night in your well-equipped tent camp, surrounded by nature.
In the morning, after a hearty breakfast, you’ll hike to the waterfall’s upper pools for an exhilarating cliff-jumping experience and a refreshing swim. Later, you’ll return to the camping area to pack up and begin the journey back.
