Take a Tamarindo Sportfishing tour for big game fishing with the area’s most experienced captains on top quality sea crafts. Tamarindo, situated in the Guanacaste region, is Costa Rica’s closest point to the continental shelf, so your trip is spent catching fish instead of searching for them.

Choose a five hour inshore half day tour, or if you would like to go offshore, a 3/4 day (seven hours) or full day nine hour trip on one of three available fishing boats. The Talking Fish is a 38’ Topaz Express with a seven- person limit. The OutCast is a 27’ Dusky with room for four people. The last option is the Salsa, which is a 27’ Escapade with a four person maximum. All of the boats come with comfortable seating in shaded areas and all of the equipment and technology needed to catch large Pacific fish.
With year round fishing in Costa Rica, you will have the chance to catch sailfish, three species of marlin, yellowfin tuna, dorado, wahoo, roosterfish, snapper, and grouper. Full days are recommended for offshore bill fishing.
Multiple boat charters are available for large groups. Packages for small or large groups can included transportation and accommodations in Tamarindo or San Jose.
Many of our tours and activities offer transportation pick up & drop off options from several locations and destinations. Options vary by tour, see “BOOKING REQUEST” for full details.
The crew was waiting for us at the pickup point. The boat was clean and the crew was friendly. They worked hard to make sure we caught some fish. We caught a beautiful rooster fish which we released and a big Red Snapper. The crew filleted the fish for us which we dropped off at Chiringuito restaurant. They prepared it for Our dinner. Great time!
The fishing trip was very good and we managed to catch a couple of large dorado. The fishing guide was excellent and friendly. It was a long day in the hot sun, though, so a bit more shade on the boat would have helped. Otherwise, the trip was thoroughly enjoyable. Personally, watching the dolphins and other fish jump around us was the highlight of the day.
Good fun especially for a first time fisherman like myself
