What makes Calypso’s Catamaran Cruise unique?
Manta Raya is equipped with a bow ramp to safely disembark her passengers directly on to the beach. Manta Raya’s speed allows for more time on the island and will get you back to San Jose, Jaco or Manuel Antonio in time for dinner.
The catamaran Manta Raya is equipped with two fresh water deck pools and two giant hammocks perfect for sunbathing on her expansive forward deck. On the return trip to Puntarenas, the oldest port and heart of commercial fishing in Costa Rica, our passengers have the opportunity to see different islands: the largest bird sanctuary in Central America for the Brown Pelican, the Magnificent Frigatebird and Brown Booby, the old prison of San Lucas, Negritos Biological Reserve plus islands that are Indigenous grave sites. The Calypso lunch has been featured in Gourmet Magazine. The famous ceviche appetizer is so wonderful it won an international recipe contest.

The island experience was great altogether. You have to wear water shoes or you will cut your feet on the coral and rocks.
What a day! Catamaran was outstanding (double decker with delicious fruit and drinks), the snorkeling incredible and the island, a dream! A day in paradise!
This tour began with being picked up in Jaco at our hotel. Once at the dock we were given breakfast. Since we were going on to San Jose following the tour they stowed our luggage in a locked storage area which made for no worries. The island was beautiful, the snorkeling superb-eels, and extremely bountiful tropical fish which were easily seen from the boat from which we disembarked. I thought it odd that once on the island you had to pay $7.00 to rent a lounge chair. The tour guide shouted schedule, menu, procedures……..someone in the group dubbed her GI Jane.
