A Sun-Filled Tropical Vacation for Four
We planned this tropical getaway with our friends, and Tracy from Anywhere helped us find the best accommodations to stay at. From rainforests to beaches, Costa Rica has so much beautiful scenery to offer!
A tropical getaway we needed…
My partner and our friends had been planning a trip to Costa Rica, hoping for some fun times by the beach. After booking our own place at Sugar Beach, we turned to Anywhere to help us fill in the blanks for a few days after that in the country. Not only did Tracy help us arrange great accommodations at Rincon de la Vieja, Arenal, and Playa Hermosa respectively, she also gave great recommendations on what to do in the area!
The highlights of this vacation…
We LOVED the rafting experience on Sarapiqui River. This tour was awesome. Our guide Fabio was experienced, friendly, and super fun — this was a great addition to our trip. Our last stop, Hotel Playa Hermosa Bosque del Mar, was way beyond our expectations. The staff were amazing — they greeted us, and had a genuine interest in making sure our stay was as expected. The rooms were beyond belief and the location and close proximity to the beach could not have been better. Not too many tourists which made it even better.

Playa Hermosa Guanacaste
Hermosa, which means "beautiful" in Spanish, is an aptly named gray-sand beach that perches between two mountains. In fact there are two Playas Hermosa, the other being in the Central Pacific Coast near Jaco while Guanacaste's Playa Hermosa is situated between Playa del Coco and Playa Panama, Hermosa is seldom as crowded as its neighbors. It is a fabulous getaway for those seeking quality relaxation.

Sarapiqui River
Originating from clear mountain streams, the Sarapiqui River runs from the Central Mountain Range just north of San Jose to the San Marcos River which runs along the shared border between Costa Rica and Nicaragua. The river is considered a national monument because of the vital service it provided in transporting arms, goods and soldiers in the 1856 war against the filibusters.

Lake Arenal, lying adjacent to the Arenal Volcano in the Northern Lowlands of Costa Rica, is the country’s most spectacular lake. With the magnificent Arenal Volcano to the east and rolling hills and forested slopes all around, the scenery couldn’t be better.
