There are approximately 113 species of bats in Costa Rica, which makes up about half of the species of mammals in the country. You’ll learn about the many species and classifications as you make your way through the Sarapiquí rainforest.

During the tour, your guide will tell you about bad adaptation and reproduction. Tirimbina Research Center has made a commitment to preserving the environment, and researchers only hold bats for around 2 hours. Toward the end of the tour, guides can show you how they capture bats for research. They can also give you an up-close look at the captured animals.
