The most relaxing beach and nature vacation ever…
We wanted a trip where we could see some different parts of Costa Rica. We love animals and snorkeling. Being a couple that’s in our 50s, we also just wanted to relax and enjoy the environment. We chose July because it’s the least busy time of the year for the area, and the rainy season has yet to start! Our first stop was Arenal, where we thoroughly enjoyed the peace and quiet of the rainforest.
Amazing accommodations and lovely views…
Gaia Hotel and Reserve in Manuel Antonio has the best service ever. We loved it so much that after an hour there, we decided to change our three-night stay to a six-night stay. You can see loads of monkeys, sloths, and red macaws. Our room had a stunning view of the forest canopy and a glimpse of the ocean beyond. Finally, Playa Panama was a great place to unwind at the end of a three-week tour of Costa Rica. The beaches are sandy and rock-free, which is great for sunbathing!

This sun drenched zone with its sparsely spaced coastal villages offers a completely laid back and relaxed atmosphere. The culture is vastly different on this coast compared to the rest of the country with its prominent Afro-Caribbean influence notable as well in the delicious cuisine found here.
Alajuela & SJO Airport
Alajuela, nicknamed City of the Mangoes, is one of the most important cities in Costa Rica. It is the capital city of the providence bearing its name and is located just 11 miles northwest (17 km) of San Jose. Just outside of town is where you'll find the Juan Santamaria International Airport (Aeropuerto Internacional Juan Santamaria), Costa Rica's principal airport.
Drake Bay
Resting on the northern side of the Osa Peninsula, Drake Bay (Bahía Drake) is an adventure-seeker's paradise. It is named after Sir Francis Drake, who is believed to have ventured here in the late 16th century. Travelers here take on some of his adventurous spirit on treks through the primary rainforest.
Manuel Antonio
Manuel Antonio is home to a namesake national park full of unspoilt beaches and world-class views. Enjoy adventures as diverse as snorkeling and jungle hikes. Playa Panama
