IncludedThis tour offers travelers an excellent opportunity to explore some of the best attractions in the Arenal area. It includes a safari float along the Peñas Blancas River, a visit to the La Fortuna Waterfall, and a hike in the Arenal Volcano National Park.
This 3-in-1 tour combines three exciting activities into one day. Travelers will visit some of Arenal’s most scenic areas and in the process learn about the geography, biology, and history of the region.
The tour starts with a safari float along the Peñas Blancas River. This river winds slowly through forest outside Arenal. Birds and other animals are most active in the morning and you’re pretty much guaranteed to spot a number of creatures. Fruit is offered at the end of this activity.
Around 11:30 AM you’ll head to the La Fortuna Waterfall. This waterfall descends some 200 feet (60 m) through the rainforest into a cold, clear pool. Adventurous travelers may want to take a swim beneath the falls, while others will be content to take pictures or sit and enjoy the scenery.
Lunch follows the falls. You’ll visit a local family and enjoy a typical-style lunch. The meal is delicious and served in an open-air setting. You’ll be offered Costa Rican coffee before heading off to the final activity.
At 3:00 PM you’ll head to the Arenal Volcano National Park. This park has impressive rainforests and excellent views of both the Arenal Volcano and Lake Arenal. You’ll go for a hike along the park’s trails, one of which leads to a lava flow that dates back to the Arenal Volcano’s 1992 eruption.
You’ll return to your hotel around 6:00 PM.
