An Epic Romantic Getaway
We loved Costa Rica! From the start of our journey to the end, we were truly amazed at the ecology, wildlife viewing, breathtaking scenery, friendly people and overall unspoiled natural setting. We will definitely be back.
It was absolutely perfect, down to the last detail…
Anywhere was absolutely perfect! Roy created a trip to suit our needs, which did not match up exactly with the regular routes. We first visited Drake Bay, then made our way North to Arenal and Monteverde. He did an excellent job and his recommendations were spot on, right down to the last detail. And we *always* had awesome support before and during our trip.
A long way to Arenal…
We had an awesome driver for a very long trip from Drake Bay to Arenal. He was extremely knowledgeable about the country and attractions along the way. Gave us a lot of insight into life in Costa Rica. We stopped at Rio Tarcoles for the crocodile viewing and for lunch at a great spot in the mountains, and even pulled over to see a sloth and take photos. This driver was fantastic, he even made suggestions for activities and restaurants in Arenal. We were glad to have made the choice to drive instead of fly, we learned and saw a lot! Arenal was more of an adventure destination for us on the trip. Whitewater rafting was excellent and the downtown area was great for dinners.
The peace and beauty of Monteverde…
Monteverde was absolutely beautiful. We loved the national park trails. Wildlife was awesome. We also appreciated that the majority of the hotels were spaced out. Each traveler can have a sense of peace and quiet in the ecolodges and the resort set in the forests. Big thanks to Roy for booking us early in the morning for the sky tram tour. We had our own guide and were early enough to be zip lining above the clouds. Tour guides were great, extremely knowledgeable, and we added on the hanging bridge walk. We loved that it was not overly crowded.
